XFM Big Night Out ~ We Are Scientists

 Carling Academy, Brixton

 Thursday 13 April 2006

You have got to check these lads out even if only by their band name and you'll be pretty glad you did - their music is of the scientific variety all right!  The three scientists graced the stage of Brixton Academy for XFM's Big Night Out before the Easter weekend and what a performance!

Front man Keith Murray suffered a few technical hitches with his instrument of choice at first, but after a few moments it was business as usual as he soldiered on.  They launched into This Scene is Dead whilst the crowd went wild and Keith's soulful yet bodacious voice combined with Chris' funky bass lines and Michael's equally very cool drumming was enough to uphold the fans thirsty taste for excellent music.

We are Scientists delighted their audience with their hour long set supplying a varied amount of tracks from their current album including "Inaction", "Its a Hit" and more well known "The Great Escape".

There were no special effects or pyrotechnics needed to maintain the audience's attention with this lot, just the three New Yorkers armed with their instruments and their astounding tracks which prove that these likely lads definitely have what it takes to outstand the rest.
