After Show Party
Barfly - Cardiff
Already having been treated to hits from Phil Collins and Boys II Men what treats were WAS going to spill up on us in the after show party Dj set? Well luckily for us after our interview with Mike we already knew what we were letting ourselves in for prior to making the short walk over to the Barfly.
The atmosphere inside wasn’t too dissimular to a normal night in the Barfly when you got past the unusual smell of perfume filling the air. As the night went on a few casualties started to wobble up the stairs into the cold and finally they arrive. A dressed down “We Are Scientists” made their entrance Ipods at the ready with some of the most unlikely tunes you could imagine or not as the case may be. Their delay in getting over to the club was caused by no taxi’s willing to take such a short fair, and the Uni minibus being out on another job!
After the usual “here is the channel one and two lesson from the house Dj the WAS disco was in full flow. Close your eyes and forget where you were and your in a high street “Walkabout” or some other equally as cheesy, annoying townie type bar, but for tonight its alright. Mike and Chris pretty much held things together musically whilst Keith posed for photos and threw the odd shape or two over a well earned Magners. Those who were there for a good time had one and those who went looking for some cutting edge new tunes from NYC left bitterly disappointed.
One thing We Are Scientists taught us through out day was
“Rhythm is a dancer”
