Sorry Your Not A Winner / OK! Time For Plan B

So this is ‘Enter Shikari’.  I’ve been hearing quite a bit about these lately, for an unsigned band these guys have been getting a lot of hype and media attention.  They had an unexpected nomination at the Kerrang awards, the video for ‘Sorry Your Not A Winner’ being played on Kerrang and Scuzz TV, a session on the Radio 1 Rock Show and a place on the MySpace/Gibson stage at this years Download festival.  Their first single ‘Mothership’ was released in August as a download only release, so this is their first ‘proper’ single released on their own label ‘Ambush Reality’ despite the of the interest off some major labels.

‘Sorry Your Not A Winner’ has it all, catchy guitar riff, group shouts, emo vocals, scream/growl vocals and a not forgetting the synth.  ‘OK! Time For Plan B’ has pretty much the same.  To be honest I can’t make up my mind to whether or not I like this, sometimes I do and sometimes it just seems to be lacking something, but if your new to this sort of music then your probably going to love it.  The last track on this single is a demo version of ‘Feast’, now this I didn’t like, it sounds to me like a fast paced punk song with somebody playing a Nintendo in the background and loses its novelty value after listening to it one or two times. 

‘Enter Shikari’ are doing a UK tour soon, so the best way to hear and make your mind up about them is to go see them or check them out on the net.
