(Bridge Nine Records) Bristol Academy

There was always a doubt in the back of my mind if this show would go ahead due to Britain’s lack of being able to cope with 3 inches of snow, the first night of the tour was cancelled but luckily tonights show went ahead.  Tonight PBC are the first band on before ex-Million Dead front man; Frank Turner and New Jersey’s The Gaslight Anthem.

After arriving at the Academy PBC soon came on to a half empty venue to play to a small handful of people who actually know who they are. This was not going to put PBC off, this is the band’s first UK tour & they meant business.  Blasting through tracks from both the album & the e.p, this live show was tight, energetic and passionate.  Jimmy Stadt’s vocal ability sounds great on record and he pulls it off live with ease.  As their short set went on and more people arrived at the venue it was easy to see a once non-interested crowd were now taking an interest and warming to PBC.  Only bad thing about PBC was the set was not long enough being the first band of the night.

After tonights performance PBC are definitely going to be band to look out for in 2009.  They have more dates coming up in the uk including their own headline shows and off the back of this tour with The Gaslight Anthem they are going to be gaining a lot of new fans.  For more info on the upcoming dates to check out their sounds, go to the link below.
