“Lord
Don’t Slow me Down”
This
is a band that can pretty much do what ever they want when ever they want
nowadays, and with it being over two years since the release of “Don’t
Believe the Truth” the news of new track “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down” is much
welcomed by many I’m sure. Title track to the forthcoming Oasis DVD
documentary is only to be (much to the bewilderment of Noel Gallagher
himself) released on download only.
This
is a four to the floor all out “bluesy” Rock n Roll foot stomper that Neil
Young himself would take pride in calling his own. Opening rattle of the now
trademark Gibson will set you up for another acoustic classic but the rumble
and pounding of drums and chunky guitar quickly puts this from the B to the
A side. Oasis seem more than happy to keep churning out classic rock n roll
sounding tracks and lets face it, its what makes them the band they are
today, and for the last sixteen years since they first stepped the planks in
Manchester’s “Boardwalk”.
There’s been a lot of change since those days but this track is a superb
representation of where they are musically and its sounds spot on. The Dylan
style video compliments the tune well and opening lyrics “I’m tired and I’m
sick, got a habit that I just can’t kick” make this a fantastic and real
“old school” sounding rock n roll track.
You
don’t even have to go out to by this! So I hugely recommend you get the pc
on quick smart.
I
wonder if Gem’s updated Noel’s Ipod yet!
