Jurassic 5 - Brixton Academy

When I got inside the Spanish villa decor at ceiling level of the stadium

managed to throw me out but still remain tranquil against some phat beats

being spun by the warm up DJ Rodney P whom seemed to love what he

was doing and wasn't just going through the motion of ploughing through

a playlist before the big boys came on.

He even made a point of this by bouncing of the expected hip hop wagon

to end his session by licking us a shot of some home grown boofness, UK
style! Yes! 'Junglist for the Mentalist' and we hold our fist to chest and

thank you for that Mr P. especially those urban soldiers.

What can I say about the Jurassic? other than what you expect. They came

in with a well worked medley to make us moist knowing we was

already-seasoned and warm through before, and the crowd rolled and rocked

with them, ooohed and sighhhhed with them as they involved us straight

from the start, and loved us back by keeping the magic going by pulling even

more of our favourite rabbits out of their hat. They kept the spirits high with

a mix of DJ theatrics and a cool lesson on how to give a break- beat the right

flava on their 5 mini beat-box machine, which they already knew would make

us make some more noise.

But still the 1 DJ and 4 mc sounding as 1 weren't happy with that. So they

went back, way back to dig up some precious fossils of 1998 drizzled over

with their feel good poetical advice.

Oh yes. The notable CHALI 2NA and the Gang got the vibe was right,
the colours was bright, the lyrics was might and the Jurassic 5 never
let up because they was tighter than a pair of Russell Brand skinnys,

and the whole crowd had their hands in the air, even me, so they
could feel them as they continued to supplied a melody of drugs cut
with plenty of sunshine.
