Panic Prevention released 29/01/07

So Christmas and New Year has passed and the Royal Mail get round to catching up on the back log of post the Christmas season causes. So this week at the Beatrwtz office we received a load of cd’s to get our reviewing teeth in to!

Of the collection of discs on my desk I find Jamie T’s debut album “Panic Prevention”, so I chuck it the cd player and give a listen while I go through the rest of my mail.

At first nothing jumped out at me and thought the tracks were bleeding into one with Jamie just kinda rapping along with his acoustic bass guitar, then every now and then lifting my head up to tracks which featured something more than his folky style which I would compare to Bob Dylan and Billie Bragg with some punk, hip-hop and reggae influences. At this point I stopped what I was doing started the disk again and started to really listen.

After listening to the cd a few times it was starting to grow on me. I do feel the best songs on the cd are the two singles we have heard so far “If you got the Money” and the Michael Winner inspired “Calm down Dearest”. If you likes these then you should get Jamie’s debut cd out on the 29th Jan.
