This John Lennon tribute album released June 25^th will be to focus attention and raise funds for Amnesty International’s work to address the catastrophe in Darfur, Sudan.  The Conflict in Darfur has lead to some of the worst human rights abuses ever, including systematic and widespread murder, rape, abduction and displacement.  Hundreds of thousands of civilians have been killed and over 2.5 million civilians have been displaced and this needs to stop.

Yoko Ono has granted the rights of Lennon’s complete songbook to Amnesty International to raise money and awareness for this ongoing crisis.  To help towards this some of the world’s biggest bands/artists have come together and help raise money by being part of this tribute to the great John Lennon.  This compilation has something for everyone, from the Reggae sounds of Matisyahu to the pop-punk sounds of Green Day and eighties favourites Duran Duran.  Each band/artist has done something special to create their own version of a John Lennon classic, so if you’re a fan of John Lennon or just a fan of great music buy this and not only enjoy a great CD but help towards an ongoing struggle.
