Howl Griff is a musician, surfer and beekeeper from Aberystwyth, West Wales. "I've been around two things all my life," he says, "bees and music. I've been stung so many times, that my blood tests show enough venom to kill a normal person. I guess you just get used to it." While he's justly celebrated for his fine Welsh honey ("we give it out at gigs all over the world, from to Newport to New York"), his futurist, poetic folk-rock has received rave reviews and comparisons with the likes of Super Furry Animals, Ian Rush, George Harrison, The Byrds, Dickey Betts and Neil Young. After gigging worldwide and landing a record deal with previous band The Occupiers, Howl has now gone solo. Supported by his backing band, he's looking to make a big impression with his new material in 2007...

Radio 1's Bethan Elfyn Bethan kindly asked permission to use 'You Are The Light' on a compilation CD of unsigned Welsh acts that she distributed at the 'In The City' gigs. Don't know what the reaction was but it gets our stuff out there somehow ... Song for Wales Howl Griff has entered the Song for Wales contest with a song called 'Ti yw fy haul'/'You are my sun'. The prize is £10,000 and if he wins he will pay to record a new album next year. He may even be able to pay for a producer. If anyone is interested please drop him a line at www.myspace.com/howlgriff
