“Heatseeker” (single) Released January 8^th

A good friend of mine worked in a guitar shop a while back and he was amazed by the amount of girls coming in and asking for guitars, but with bands like The Hedrons knocking about its hardly a surprise.  This all female band got together in 2005 and by the end of 2006 had played in excess of 120 shows across the country including appearances at T in the Park, Download, Guilfest and secured a support slot with Alice in Chains.

“Heatseeker” is the Glaswegian four piece’s third single and it has to be said there hasn’t been a group of women that have managed to rise above the obvious jibes since the likes of L7 and the mighty Babes in Toyland. Now, these are big boots to fill but The Hedrons certainly give it both barrels.  Distorted guitars in minor key coupled with a slightly indie sounding vocal makes this single a catchy tune that will certainly help drive The Hedrons into the spot light. With the album “One more wont Kill us” out soon Juliette Lewis and The Licks certainly aren’t the only female fronted rock act worth checking out.
