“Electro Poppers Goldfrapp have confirmed that the first single to be taken from their forthcoming new album “Seven Tree” is to be “A&E”. Both Will Gregory and Alison Goldfrapp recorded the single in their own studio deep in the heart of rural England”

Judging by the tone of this new single I don’t think they would have had any complaints from the neighbours if it was written, recorded and rehearsed daily in a highrise flat in Hengoed. This is a mile away from the “Black Cherry” days of Goldfrapp’s filthy distorted dancefloor filling synths and beats.  

In true pop fashion this tune stretches to three minutes and twenty seconds and to be honest without sounding too harsh it’s sort of a relief. There’s some Kate Bush tones to this but those waiting since the release of 2005’s “Supernatural” for some new slices of electronic “Frappjack” will be finding themselves a little disappointed.

Alison Goldfrapp’s vocal as ever sounds amazing but for those wanting more of what they do best will be left in hope that this is calm before the finale on “Severn Tree” and with it being track seven you may just be in luck!
