“Forever, The Singles” (The
DVD)
Were
you one of those kids that used to have a video of all your favourite music
taped off the tellie? Chances are if you were, you’ve lost it by now or the
old Beta Max was thrown on the scrap heap along time ago. Thank god The
Charlatans have put together this collection of videos and live footage
stretching back to the days when John Barker was standing in Mark’s shoes
and most of the boys sported the typically “Baggy” or should I say “floppy”
curtained hair do’s.
As the
CD, the DVD boasts recordings from three different labels, Beggars Banquet,
Island Records and Sanctuary. It includes all of the band’s eighteen videos
and is a must for anyone needing a well deserved trip back down memory lane.
This a cracking visual document of everything you lived for, from the early
nineties right through to the present day. It goes without saying that if
you want the real experience you need to catch these boys live but if you
think you’ve passed your days of spilling beer down the sleeves of your new
coat as your dancing too much this is a must.
Eighteen superb videos, Live performance from Brixton Academy (present day),
TV performances plus the making of “Love is The Key” and a discography. Now,
although The Charlatans have released a similar
DVD a few years back this looks great, sounds even better has
fantastic art work and will make a cracking back drop to a night in with
your mates. Go and buy it, you won’t be disappointed.
