A few week s ago I was fortunate enough to get to go see this young three-piece band from Coventry play live. The gig was a very intimate sold out event in Cardiff’s Uni bar CF10. It was the first night of their first UK headline tour, I think the boys themselves seemed surprised by the size of the venue but this did not stop them belting out a fantastic set.

A few weeks on I was pleased to see we had received a copy of their debut album “We Live And Die In These Towns” to review. I sat back pressed play on the cd player, and hoped I would be as impressed with the album as I was after I saw them live. The album did NOT disappoint!

Often the case with any album - the best songs have usually been the singles released before the album. Having loved the singles that were released I was hoping the rest of the album would stand up with them; and they do! The Enemy have given us an album packed with anthemic sing along tunes and lyrics clearly taken from the boy’s own life experiences we can all relate to.

This album has been played constantly on my ipod since having it! This is an album where each song could easily be a single as they are all as strong as each other. It’s quite easy to see why these guys are being championed by the likes of Kasabian and Noel Gallagher. They personally remind me of the Clash and I’m sure they are gonna be around for a long time.

This album is out now it’s  a must have cd.
