SIAN LEWIS – PHOTOGRAPHER, WRITER AND POET We at BEATRWTZ are always looking for people to contribute to the website and we were looking for some people to help Jay with the film reviews. We were recommended to talk to Sian as she has had some experience at this. Not only did we find a talented writer whose work will feature in the future pages of the website, we also found that Sian was an exceptional photographer. Sian took up photography in 1998 whilst at university and studied it for two years, mostly working in the medium of black and white. Back then, she used a standard 35mm SLR camera as digital photography was still in its infancy and digital cameras cost a small fortune. Her first digital camera had a mere 1.5 million pixels and was a world away from the 9 million-pixel camera she uses today. Like most photographers Sian is especially fond of shooting in black and white, especially when doing portraits. Her work encompasses a variety of subjects from nature and wildlife to city panoramas and architecture. Sian particularly enjoys photographing in close up but has recently turned her attention to animal portraits where she specialises with horses and dogs. All of her photographs are for sale and Sian is available for weddings, corporate events, family and animal portraits. Sian is also a keen writer and professional poet and has just started work on two screenplays.
